Micro Credit in Education
Haiti has one of the Highest illiteracy and lowest school enrollment rates in the Caribbean Region,
primarily due to the high cost of attending school which prevent many rural and urban families from receiving an education.
We strongly believe that a good education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and can create a
better future for Children, Young People and their families. That is why Queensland Foundation for Children,
Health and Education promote education in each of the Communities by facilitating sponsorship for thousands of
Haitian students who otherwise would not have a chance to attend. When QFCHE invite you to sponsor a student,
QFCHE is inviting you to invest in the future of Haiti, one Child at a time.
How sponsorship works
For each Haitian student in the program we provide
Cost of enrollment fees, requisite school materials, supplies and uniforms
Regular monitoring of school work and progress by Families Social Worker
Access to the Queensland Foundation Children University Hospital
General education support needed
We encourage engagement between students and sponsors
One of the most rewarding aspects of sponsoring a student is getting to know
students personally, and see firsthand how your generosity can positively affect
the student’s and their family’s lives. We will
Send you regular updates on students’ school report cards
Give the students the option to write letters directly to you
Let you know about students ‘current family’s living situation on a regular basis
Invite you to travel to Haiti and meet your student and their family one-one-one
Meet some of our Students finished about Queensland University and today is Director of a NGO in Haiti.
